All the parts are complete! all i have left is to combine brain holders with the insides back at school, and seal them up! No store in Richmond seems to sell pink packing peanuts, so we bought white ones and I hand painted. Used watered down acrylic in a large ziploc, with a couple handful of peanuts each round, air dried. I like the variation created though by doing it myself!

Almost done project! I've learned this week that a heat gun with multiple layers works the best for applying the cling wrap. Painting and prepping packing peanuts for inside over break! Began sculpture project/ finalized ideas! Decided to go with chicken ire foundation and then cover with plastic wrap maybe??? 1.75 /2 wire brain forms made. All my pictures are sideways this week.. Not sure why. Began planning for the Sculpture project! This will be interesting...
Snowpocalypse 2k15 has struck, and so did artpocalypse. So lots has changed since my last update. I finished the project Monday, and absolutely hated what i ended up doing to it.After adding the bubbles i melted more crayon, then i added more tissue paper and a final paint detail. I was really unhappy with the way the last couple steps turned out. So it's a good thing that the canvases came in a pack of two because i decided to completely restart. I reflected back on the old one and figured out what stage i didnt like, and remade the steps before that. So, here's my place project pt. 2, with the place simply being joy and what that looks/ feels like for me. The second process includes, A layer of glitter paint, crayon, layer of paint, tissue paper, 2nd tissue, paint detailing, and metallic paint. Planned a couple nights... Then I started and almost finished place project. My place is kindergarten classroom/ the joy from that. My materials are inspired by what could be found in a kindergarten art room. So far i like what i've done. Almost there! A layer of glitter paint, crayon, paint, tissue paper, pipecleaner, packing bubbles, paint. Stressful week but I think I'm content with it. Added a couple of layers of paint, took some off, added a thin gloss layer, took some off, then finished up with a textured layer from joint compound mixed with paint. Started painting this week! First a layer of brighter orange, then a layer of rustish circles. Ended working with water and removing some if paint. I forgot it would drip but I really like the way it's turned out so far! Week before thanksgiving break!!! Not much done till after other work was done. Friday, Saturday and Sunday were big progress days. Finished all but background by end of Sunday. |
