I really enjoyed this lunchtime lecture on architecture and design today at school. For me, I realistically know that I will probably not pursue the arts as a career or for college. However, art is a large and vital part of my life and seeing/ hearing from people who's job blends math with design , two of my favorite subjects, is really encouraging. I've always wondered about what architecture entails and the different types of this job. After many of the lectures, I come away from them inspired by what others do and impressed that they followed that path, but I've never considered them a career option. After this I actually came home and talked about the idea of doing something like this with my parents. This made me wonder about how design and practicality blend, especially in the design of functional buildings, rather than simply sculpture. This made me wonder more about what happens in terms of this career after school, and what that process is like. Overall, I got a lot out of this lecture and felt like i learned a lot about the process/ idea planning that goes into this work.
